5.2 Security: We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security assessments. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5.3 Retention: We retain your information according to the following guidelines:

  • Account data: Retained for the life of your account and up to 30 days after deletion request.
  • Order and purchase records: Retained for 7 years to comply with tax and accounting obligations.
  • Cloud sensor data: Retained according to your account settings or until you delete it.
  • Website analytics: Aggregated and anonymized within 26 months of collection.
  • Support communications: Retained for 3 years after resolution.
  • Cookie consent preferences: Stored locally in your browser until you clear your data.

When data is no longer needed for any of the above purposes, we securely delete or anonymize it.

Our build-it project guides are educational content. We do not collect any personal data through the build-it projects themselves. If a build-it project includes a Tick device with Wi-Fi connectivity, data collection is governed by our cloud services terms above and by your own configuration choices.

Our services may integrate with or link to third-party services including:

  • Microsoft Azure (cloud infrastructure)
  • Payment processors
  • Analytics providers
  • Shipping carriers
  • Book retailers (Amazon, etc.)

These third parties have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services.

Our services are operated from the United States. If you access our services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where data protection laws may differ from your jurisdiction.
