About
Stories that watch back. Devices that think ahead.
Institute for Seer LLC (i4Seer) is an independent publisher and technology studio. We are two things at once — a horror fiction house and an IoT hardware shop — and we think that is a feature, not a contradiction.
The books and the devices share one instinct: pay attention to what is actually happening. Our fiction is about people who see something they are not supposed to see. Our hardware is about putting eyes on things that were never watched. Different outputs, same reflex.
We publish and build from the United States. Everything you see on this site is ours — the stories, the cover art, the firmware, the cloud, the prose, the schematics. We do not license. We do not white-label. We ship under our own name because we stand behind every line.
Two halves of one studio. Fiction on one side, hardware on the other.
Three series, three voices, three audiences. Written by B. Carter, a Native American computer engineer, veteran, and lifelong reader of adventure books, manga, and comics.
Middle-grade horror. Smart scares, real mysteries, and a device the villain built that readers can actually make. Three books live.
Dark fae horror for upper middle grade and lower YA. Ancient European fae waking in American towns where the rules have been forgotten.
Adult literary horror. Standalone novels about ordinary people who receive warnings so precise they cannot be doubted — and walk into the fire anyway.
SEER Tick is our IoT monitoring platform. Rugged, battery-efficient LoRaWAN sensors, private gateways, a secure cloud console, and email & Teams alerts — built for operators who need focused simplicity instead of bloated commercial suites.
Microsoft and Google sign-in. Fleet-scoped roles. Threshold and silence alerts with quiet hours. Full audit with CSV export. Bearer tokens for Grafana and Power BI. Rate-limited ingest. Years of battery life per sensor. Live at tick.i4seer.com.
